P2

P2
P2 is all about doing a contextual analysis on a segment of a show. This will allow you to learn how Radio Cambridgeshire and radio shows in general are formatted and what they sound like. This will influence what type of show you will produce.

DEADLINES - ADD THESE TO YOUR BLOG TITLES
G107 - 26 APRIL
G120 - 26 APRIL
C13 - 26 APRIL

a&b - RADIO EXTRACT BREAKDOWN
You need to examine the different types of content heard in an excerpt of a show. To do this you will make a video, running order lists and pie charts.

VIDEO

You need to edit together a video which indicates every time the radio shows switches to a different type of content.

In this video, you need to indicate the following:
-Type of content (using the colour coded colour mattes)
-Who says it (using the text tool)
-Whether it is live or pre-recorded
-Brief description of content
-For (at least 2) Presenters, you need to analyse the presenter in the following ways: tone of voice, mode of address, why they are/not suitable, what techniques they use which you like.
-For sweepers you need to analyse the sweepers function and quality

To complete this task you need to download the following premiere pro asset pack - this contains templates for this project as well as the audio files needed to make your edit.

You can always add more cards if you need to, by using the colour matte tool and using the text tool if you need to. Here is an example of what your video might look like.
Your timeline should look like something like this
Top video = text layer
Bottom video = colour matte
Audio = cut up into segments

RUNNING ORDER
After you have made that video you need to make a running order list, using this template sheet, showing the running order based on the type of content. Here is an example of what your running order might look like.

PIE CHART
After you have done that convert that information into 2 pie charts.
1st pie chart = pre-recorded or live. Example below

2nd pie chart = Your piechart should depict the length of air time given to each type of content. Example below (in seconds)

c&d - RADIO EXTRACT ANALYSIS
After you have completed your video and made your pie chart - you need to analyse the contents of each of the type of content. Cover the following points on at least 3 different types of content, referring back to how the content either fits or goes against the target audience:
-a summary of what they discuss in this content
-the mode of address of the content
-the quality of the content
-the amount of time spent on the content

Additionally, you need to discuss:
-the purpose of and the quality of the sweepers used
